The Team Pool is just something that we thought would be cool to have in the comp so even lower level climbers can compete against their friends and be eligible to win a prize.  Sounds easy right.  Ask a City Summit staff member how you can register your team.

Climbers Against Cancer is the result of the hard work and determination of John Ellison . Already a long time climber, John’s idea to link climbers with cancer fundraising efforts was from the inspiration of his fellow climbing family and the power he saw in what a group of dedicated people can achieve.

City Summit will be making an order with CAC for t-shirts in April. If you would like to order a t-shirt then please let us know what size and colour you would like. Cost per shirt is $25 with the full purchase price being sent directly to CAC. Alternatively you can order directly from the CAC website at a cost of £15.

If you are an active competitor you are going to love the City Summit Bouldering Championship and this is just the beginning for what we have planned for competitive climbing in WA.  If you are fresh faced to competition then this is the best time to make an entrance and experience what competitive climbing has to offer.  It doesn’t matter what level you are, you are still eligible to win a prize by entering a team into a Competition Pool.  Competing in a Pool allows you to compete in the main competition as well as earn bragging rights against your friends to see who is best on the day with some great prizes up for each Pool nominated.

Spectators can enjoy the outstanding performance on display by the competitors plus the bonus sideline events planned for the day.  Details to be announced shortly.

Kids Open Day

On Wednesay January 9 and Monday January 21, City Summit is letting the kids take over the centre. All children will receive a climbing induction with one of our qualified climbing instructors and supervision during the day. Minimum age is 5 to climb and any child under 12 will need an adult to belay if they want to top rope climb. Price includes all day entry, a serve of our fresh healthy pizza and a juice box drink. Parents can drop off their kids or relax in the cafe overlooking the climbing gym. Entry prices; $15 for Bouldering only and $20 for Top Rope climb including harness hire.

Kids Club

Rock climbing is a great physical activity that will teach your child teamwork, self confidence, trust and motivation. Our Kids Club ‘City Summit Rocks’ is a five or ten week course run on Saturday’s from 8am to 11am. Enrolment will also provide your child unlimited access to the climbing gym and hire equipment for the entire duration of the course. Cost per student is $360 for 10 weeks or $200 for 5 weeks. Next course starts January 5.

Kids Climbing Courses

Running midweek, our 3 and 5 days courses teaches your child team work, navigation of graded climbs, belaying competency, bouldering skills and finishes with a pizza party and certificate of achievement on graduation. Cost per child is $250 for the 3 day course and $350 for the 5 day course with both including gear hire, pizza party and all day entry.

Both courses run from 11am to 3pm weekdays. For bookings or more information regarding any of our kids climbing programs, please contact us. Upcoming course start dates: 14 January & 28 January.

$1000 Cash and $900′s worth of Skylotech  and Tendon gear!!!!    

All you have to do is the first ascent of City Summit’s DreamCatcher.  Yep, that’s all… and you get $1000 cash, $700s worth of Skylotec gear including the Duffle L gear bag, Skylotec harnesses, carabiners and quickdraws as well as a Tendon Master 9.7mm rope from Climbing Anchors.

To be awarded the prize and to have your name permanently etched as the first ascent, you must complete the climb cleanly without rests or hangdogging.  Have as many attempts as you like; practice sections at a time but put it all together and the prize and glory is yours.

The DreamCatcher at City Summit is one of those climbs that we often look at think wouldn’t it be good to do it but never really attempt it, there is only one way to know and that is to attempt it.  It is a great climb that requires patience, strength and technique but is one hell of a fun climb… so get in there and give it a crack, push yourself and see where it takes you!

We hear that there are a couple of guys from the Eastern states coming out to tick it off, surely we loyal West Aussies are not going to let that happen???  And Sharma, if you’re out there, why not have a go at the real DreamCatcher???

So the gauntlet has been laid down, get in there and have a go at this classic climb.
